But bottom line for most people is they won't have to pay tax on selling a house.
 I think the rule has changed (to the better for the homeowner) but it used to be that a) if you bought an equally or more expensive primary residence within 2 years, there was no gains tax and b) once in your lifetime, you could "take it and run". Erik  |
