I think you are the one confused about current cosmology theory ! Proton decay experiments - like Kamiokande and SuperKamiokande have pushed the bottom limit for proton decay to some 10^35 years. That essentially means that protons are eternal, once created. It has no bearing I can see with the apparent age of the universe, any more than the spontaneous decay of a nucleotide indicates that it was (halflife ago) since it was created, Steve |
