I know that ground and Vcc planes are used with wire wrapping. But I also know, that wire wrap is often used as a synonym for not using an etched printed circuit board, but having all the connections made by simpe wires. These guys then don't use a solid ground plane. This I was also assuming, erroneously as we know today, in that certain thread you mention here.
