Just then, i thought of developing a kind of 8051 based POS (Point of Sale) device which could be used as a data logger when on site (typically on the job) and through wich one could upload the data to the host PC at the end of the day. from his post, I don't think they want to pay PC price to do this simple job. one cpu and two flash will be OK for this simple project.
