I said so, and I mean it in the proper context. If you make an exact copy (hardware and software) stolen binary is, of course, noy useless. What I said (probably not a direct quote) is "stolen binary is useless for program development". I had a case of using "legally stolen" binaries (the plant burned and they had no offsite backup) as a basis for developing a unit. After a while I realized it would be much faster to recreate from scratch based on the specs for the unit. Now, f you wonder why recreate, why not just use the binaries? An enhancement was required.
