I think the "xxx-brand has timing problems" applies to SPI-ISP where the bit-banging depends on the exact timing (see the other thread); but it is not the case here, where UART-ISP is in concern.
In fact, any USB device from its principle CAN NOT support the same timing as any device connected to internal buses of PC; but as far as a bare Rx/Tx UART is concerned, there is not too much to be spoilt. I will try to borrow a prolific-chip based cable and try to ISP with that... (having curious nature) Jan Waclawek |
