At a guess I'd say you have two solutions - either isolate your RS232 or use an isolation transformer for your telephone interface.
Think about your problem - the phone line power comes from the phone exchange and is most likely earthed there. You connect your computer which is most likely grounded at your house - most likely a potential difference or at least a phase difference. Got to break the ground loop somewhere! |
