#92494 - Pre-emptive multitasking Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Why C over Assembler it is easier. The bigger the project the easier a HLL make the project. For a small project
Why RTOS over a work loop. On a bigger project it may be simpler. The RTOS gives you toys for inter-task comunication. If you want or need Pre-emptive multitasking it is buy it or roll you own. When is one better for a given project, only the porgrammer knows. I inherited a 16 bit RTOS project. I would not have picked RTOS for the project, but it works nice and make some things easier. But, you get to deal with all the multi-task issues. read the Jean Labrosse book. It talks about it alot. |
