But still I don't know whether the crystal oscillators with in built capacitors really work without burdan capacitors?
The three legged "crystals" most ofteh are ceramic resonators and they do not need (external) capacitors. I have never designed anything without the burden caps (and never forgotten them) so I have no comment on running without them but I can say for absolutely sure that I have never had a problem running with them. Also I have no recollection of using anything else than 33pF. This is not scientific, but 680.000 units do not know that and are happily running. Erik |
