I'm trying to use SDCC in a current project and it seems to be working. I haven't compared code efficiency/size to Keil or Raisonance yet, but it does seem that SDCC works fine from a functional perspective. I find the documentation lacking, but I only had stumbled upon the HTML version online at SourceForge. If there's a more complete version in PDF format I'll have to look for that and download it.
