1)I assume that you're looking for the device connector (not the host connector) so you want a USB "B" type connector. Right?
2)I've never seen a non-PCB-mount connector, simply because they expect a PCB for signal-integrity reasons. 3)If your device is low speed, then you can do a "captive cable" which eliminates the device connector -- you just have a pigtail wire coming out. 4)The other option is to eliminate the USB connectors on both sides and use a custom sort of connector, assuming you control both ends of the cable. 1)The connector is for a keychain disk. The USB host processor (Cypress) is connected by SPI to a '51 cluster. 2)I want PCB mount, but with eyelet flanges as seen in e.g. PCB mount DB connectors. 3) I do not think a pigtail wirw in front of a busdriver is a good idea. 4) as there is no cable, the connector type is mandatory.
