#374 - RE: Editor |
I have editor supporting 8051 assembler syntax (INTEL standard).
Features: W.EXE is a text editor, not a word processor. That's why most of its features have on purpose to serve at creating and maintaining various program source codes. Some of the features that forge the core of the editor are: - Fast file load and save operations. - Syntax highlithing for .a51, .asm and .c files. - 8051 syntax is customizable for derivatives 8052, ... - Complementary braces and parentheses highlithing. - Instant jump on matching braces and parentheses. - Easy navigation through the pull-down menu system. - Multi-file editing. - Instant navigation amongst the files in memory. - Avanced incremental search in puck-up list menu system. - Easy calling external tools implementing Borland standard for messages. You could invoke command line assembler and trasnferring error messages with their line positions into a message menu for later navigation. - Maintaining a complete history of files open, saearch etc. prompts. - Instant functions jump inside the source code. - Hex, bin, dec calculator - Complete Undo and Redo functions. - Customizable functions comment header. - Extensively utilizes the installed XMS of the computer. - High performance DOS Shell function. - Typing automation such as AutoIndent and Backspace unindent. - Tab-handling options as UseTabs, OptimalFill and CursorThroughTabs. - Optional 100% Windows common user interface (CUI) appearance. - Complete execution from a single file (W.EXE). - Block Indent and Unindent commands. There are some simple word-processing features: - Word wrap at a customizable LeftMargin. - Centering a line. - Wrapping a paragraph. Editor constraints are: - The size of a single file can not exceed 64k. - The Clipboard is 16k of size. - The Undo buffer maintains operations not exceeding 48k. Some known bugs, of course :-) If someone is interested in getting this editor please write me. A completely new version developement is in progress right now, it is 32-bit and is multiplatform, aims win32, dos (DPMI32) and linux. It will have all the source available for testers. Take a look at w.exe and if you would like to be a beta-tester of the new editor please acknowledge me. Peter |
