I'm not familiar with it, but it wouldn't surprise me if it were an 8052-derivative. I know the 8052 is used commonly in the automotive industry.
If you have the means to do so, it'd be interesting to read the contents of the chip you pulled and disassemble it. Most likely, it's an 8052 derivative with on-board ROM or EPROM, and if you could read the chip with an EPROM burner it'd be interesting to see what the program that runs your car does exactly.
