I want to make a function generator with frequencies between 1 and 1000 Hz.
In combination I need a real time clock (presettable) who counts down on 7 segment displays and controls the output.

Since this my first project I need to buy an evaluation board with compiler (for C) as cheap as possible.

Somebody out there can give me some directions???
