#171805 - Motor controller - is an 8052 suitable? |
Hi there,
I'm looking at making a PID controller for a brushed DC motor using a MCU. Up until now, I have only ever used 8052s - more specifically the Atmel AT89S8253 and need a little advice when it comes to selecting a device for this application. I have identified the need for an ADC and PWM, yet I am struggling to find an 8052 device that has both of these features built-in. When I have looked at other families of 8 bit MCU (like PIC and AVR), I have managed to find several devices that have this functionality. At this early stage of my project, when it is still easy to make significant changes, would I be better off using something like a PIC or AVR, or can someone more wise than me suggest an 8052 device that offers this functionality?
