#1569 - RE: TTL input efficiency
The currents flow to charge the capacitance of the lines ! If you have passive pullups/down, they always sink/source current and cause dissipation that you can avoid. The line stray capacitance is UN avoidable, but needs charging and discharging to make signals appear on the line.

V=e^-t/(RC) All real lines have real R and real C.
