#1503 - network between multiple 8051 |
Feb 15, 2000
Hi fellows, I have around 25 boards, based on 8051 working seperately from each other. They all are controlling seperate functions in one building, and they all have some status info within their own internal ram about the process they are controlling. Now I am trying to workout some way to interconnect them, so at any given time, they can ask each other about the status of their processes, from their internal memory. I think I should have a unique address assigned to every 8051 board, and a common communication medium, where talker can ask seperate seperate listeners about their status. The considerable point is that, any of them can be talker at any given time. That means user can ask any of the 8051 to get the info. from the whole network. and display in some manner, lets say on a detachable LCD (which can be developed seperately from above). So user can attach this to any of the controller and get the info, whenever he requires. Can some of you comment on: 1-What protocol should be easy to implement. My preference is to use 2 or 4 wire common bus network. I will appreciate your inputs. Thanks Rauf |
