#147174 - CAN Update Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hi all - a couple more questions for those knowledgeable ones out there.
I'm really not interested in the CAN protocol, but I am interested in the physical layer stuff. I would like to develop my own protocol (MAP27 based) and use CAN physical layer on this network as this takes care of multimaster issues without letting the smoke out of the transceivers as far as I can see. Here is a nice transceiver http://datasheets.maxim-ic.com/en/ds/MAX...AX3056.pdf The question is then: is this possibe - does anyone know of a transceiver that tells you when a collision has been detected, then I could wire this to an interrupt on the uC and all the hard work has been done! Otherwise I have to figure out and then I will only know when I add up the CRC, which is not too bad but better knowing early I reckon. I can then handle a simple CSMA protocol in the uC easily enough. Thoughts, suggestions, better ways to do it???? THanks Marshall |
