If someone can suggest a universal programmer - including EPROMS - and a assembler and editor that will be around for a while I sure would appreciate it.
when I used 'cheap' (today I use 'industrial strength') programmers, the choice was Needhams. the best free assembler, by far, is the metalink (google) a) it works and b) it is fully documented. Being who I am, I have always used 'industrial strength' editors, so there I can not hep re 'economy version'. HOWEVER, what I would suggest would be that you bought a SILabs devboard (~$99 -up), It comes with a 4k Keil and full ICE functionality which, compared to 'working with Ohms law' will blow your socks off. Erik PS re SILabs devboard, get a 0xx, 1xx or 2xx, the deviates (3xx -up) will confuse the defecation out of you. |
