then you should be smart enough to avoid "stepping on" the LCD. The LCD 'E' strobe only occurs when the MCU attempts to access that one 256-byte page (0xFExx) of external memory. So long as you stay out of that region, there'll be no 'E' strobe, so the other signals will be irrelevant.
Depending on how you choose your MCU crystal, the entire LCD circuit may not work, as the 'E" strobe will only be as long as the nRD and nWR strobes. At 1 MHz, that's not very long. IIRC that the HD44780 requires that it be at least 400 ns long. RE |
