AFAIK there are some older sources available for the sunrom-variety of programmer, and they are in C, so it should be relatively easy to modify that for PC-less operation (adding the buttons and LCD). There is one more task, namely to add a storage medium for the programs to burn, I would use a serial EEPROM, e.g. 24C64 could store at least four '2051 programs. And, of course, you need to solve the battery management and supply circuitry...
It sounds like an interesting project, though. The only similar commercial portable battery-operated device programmer I know of is the Dataman S4, which is relatively obsolete and sold out for around a year - the S5 is IIRC still not ready... JW |
