I being a novice would like to extend the discussion on external interrupt.

Is it possible to disable interrupt (at the very first occuring i.e. just when a low is detected or -ive going edge is detected) untill the service routine is completely served and RETI executed where the interrupt could be enabled again.
I think this way a debouncing can be achieved.
