There arer several MCS51 assemblers out there for Linux, my favorite is TASM since i started with this under dos and just progressed with it. It has changed name now, but should still be easy to find. DO NOT CONFUSE IT WITH A BORLAND ASSEMBER OF THE SAME NAME IT'S NOT THE SAME!!!.
