#116151 - LED Sign & 8052 s/w questions |
I am working with a 1995 LED sign made by the Signature Sign company of Vermont or New Hampshire. Signature Signs was acquired by Comtech and moved to Dayton Oh in 1999
This LED sign uses a 8052 chipset on a ?custom logic circuit board to drive the display. However, I do not have the OEM software to drive the 8052. Comtech no longer supports this sign and says the software is long gone. Questions: 1.) How can I determine which 3rd party serial port software will work properly with the 8052 and this custom logic board to generate scrolling messages? The logic board does not appear to store message text in the EEPROM and seems to require an RS-232 serial connection to obtain data from a PC. 2.) I have a JPG of the logic board available that can be sent by email. The logic board says "Signature LED SIGN CPU V-1". No FCC ID is visible to allow me to track the OEM manufacturer. How can I determine which 3rd party software can drive the sign if the OEM info is no longer available? Any help to determine which software can drive this logic board with the 8052 for simple scrolling messages through a serial connection would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Steve Cincinnati, Ohio |
