Such names are usually thought up by marketing dweebs, who, on average, tend to be dumber than gerbils. Of course if we engineers thought up the names, they'd make more sense but the customers, being typical business types who are about as dumb as the marketing dweebs, would likely be perplexed by the names we'd choose.

Since the marketing dweebs and the business dorks understand each other, let them play their silly games, and in the long run we'll probably all be better off :-)
