#110995 - Forced Migration Responding to: ???'s previous message |

The Philips P89C51Rx appears to have been replaced with the new P89V51Rx. Our prices on the older P89C51Rx have shot up by over 50% as Philips tries to force us to migrate to the P89V51Rx. The P89V51Rx has a different method of handling the ISP / bootvector situation. Interesting. The 89V51Rx seems to have more RAM and an SPI and of course there are 3V versions (LV) too so overall it seems an improvement on the 89C51Rx. More importantly, entering ISP mode seems to have been simplified which can only be a good thing. I don't like the idea of hiking prices to force you to migrate though, not good business. Is the 89V51Rx series now cheaper than the 89C51Rx series? Ian |
