you are right, the Atmels and Philips are slightly different. E.g. on the Philips P89C668 the /EA-pin was latched always independend from the lock bits. The lock bits are the same for bootloader and for parallel programming On the Atmels there are different lock bits for bootloader and for parallel programming. The parallel programming lock bits are not accessible by the bootloader and always set by factory to avoid thievery by parallel readout. Peter |
