#108685 - More Clearly Defined Question Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Sorry - hope this answers your questions
Sender of the data is the '51 (otherwise I would be kindly directed to a more appropriate forum) Speed is variable, parity is variable (even in the spec but what manufacturer follows the specs) No handshaking. Device Receving the message is the device that asked for the data, this may be any modbus master device but typically will be a PLC, RTU, or SCADA system. (Programmable Logic Controller, Remote Telemetry/Terminal Unit, Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition respectively for those that don't like SMS / acronyms) The data is a range of information that the master has asked for, beit a water level, or a serial number. Thanks Marshall |
