Hi,

For LCD displays using the HD44780 controller in 4-bit mode, does anyone have experience with "tying" the unused data bits (D0-D3) to Vcc or Gnd? We plan on using it with R/W* tied to ground (write-only device using timing loops) so that it takes up 6 pins. I don't really want to leave the unused data inputs flapping in the wind. I recall a long time ago tying them one way or another and it caused problems... so I'm looking for someone who has a track record with pulling them up or down.
