I guess what you've just said has probably given away where I am at on the learning curve and the fact that I've had no 'formal' training (I've been at it for about 2 weeks now...).

Anyhow, I will try and remember your first two comments in future, so that I don't do that again. I will start using comments wherever possible - I guess not everyone can guess what's going on in my head and finally, if someone would be so kind as to explain what the 'Pre tag' is, then I'll also use that.

Moving onto the original question - I think i have just about fixed the problem after many 'wasted' hours. I am making a tachometer for model engines and I seem to be getting a reasonable reading on my display.
