Autobaud can be done by use of a known 1st character. This is common in modems, where every command starts with "AT..." I'm currently using a modem with such a feature: it doesn't echo the 'A' until after you've pressed the 'T'; ie, when you press 'T', it echoes "AT" This is because it doesn't complete its autobauding until it's got the complete "AT" It's a little disconcerting at first! |
