#104816 - This, of course blows any modern design Responding to: ???'s previous message |
First, the controller must have the program (at least the critical part) externally placed, and so addressed by P0-P2
This, of course blows any modern design. In my opinion the most significant improvement to the '51 ever is the internal flash and ERAM. This makes the '51 a manypin device where, in the olden days, there never were enough pins and CPLDs, latches and whatever had to be added to get enough I/O. A board with a '51, a 232 and a few buffer chips is a beauty to behold when you have seen the old ones with latches, ROM, RAM, CPLD, and who knows what. Slobodan, what you suggest is fine, just kills 99% of all projects. Erik |
