I just received a sample of a nice Truly graphic LCD that has an SPI interface (as well as the usual 8-bit interface). I'm sure it's just a simple state machine tacked onto the front end of the parallel interface, but it's nice to be able to do the interface in 4 wires (not including power and ground). It's only monochrome though...
